Job summary

A music education company in Singapore is looking for an enthusiastic individual to teach music and movement to young children. Candidates should have a good command of English, a background in music, and a love for working with young learners. This part-time position offers a pay range of $40 to $60 per hour with flexible working hours during weekdays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in teaching music and movement at enrichment centers or preschools preferred.
• Must have genuine love for young children.
• Exercise creativity in conducting interesting lessons for children.

Responsibilities

• Attend Teacher's training conducted by The Music Scientist or by other Early Childhood and Music Institutes.
• Implement Music, Movement and Sensory/Science programmes curated by The Music Scientist.
• Build good relations and rapport with preschools’ principals and teachers.
• Provide assessment reports on student progress.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Attend Teacher's training conducted by The Music Scientist or by other Early Childhood and Music Institutes
• Resources and material preparation for the purpose of lesson execution.
• Implement Music, Movement and Sensory/Science programmes curated by The Music Scientist for children of ages infants to 6 years old.
• Guide the students to the instrument, percussion and prop play;
• Guide the students with dance movements;
• Provide assessment report of the students’ progress (template of assessment criteria will be given)
• Build good relations and rapport with preschools’ principals and teachers
• Travel to The Music Scientist's centre for collection of teaching resources
• Travel to assigned preschools with all required teaching resources

Qualifications and Requirements

• Good command of English
• Confident and good in singing, able to sing to pitch
• With dance background preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in teaching music and movement at enrichment centers or preschools preferred
• ABRSM Grade 3 to 5 in Music Theory and/or Practical preferred
• Outgoing personality
• Must have genuine love for young children
• Exercise creativity in conducting interesting lessons for children
• Approximately 3 hours per day over 5 week days
• Based in Malaysia OR Singapore
• Pay at $40 to $60 per hour
