Responsibilities
  • Oversee category pages and site navigation to deliver a dynamic, engaging customer experience through effective merchandising strategies.
  • Analyze site performance metrics to identify opportunities for improving conversion rates and driving revenue growth within assigned product categories.>
  • Collaborate with regional production and UX teams to execute promotional activities and manage site updates for an optimized store experience.
  • Leverage insights and performance data to develop strategies that enhance product sales, streamline customer pathways, and improve overall on‑site experience.
  • Design and implement “test‑and‑learn” frameworks to optimize site performance, informed by data analysis, market trends, and best practices.
  • Stay current with ecommerce and digital marketing trends in Japan, across Asia, and globally; apply these insights to develop programs and testing solutions for site optimization.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to coordinate merchandising activities for store and marketplace category management, demand generation, targeted traffic, EDM campaigns, and social media initiatives.
  • Plan and execute A/B testing aligned with business and sales objectives at both country and regional levels.
  • Manage product data setup, including navigation, search functionality, cross‑sells, copywriting, and image assignments.
  • Work closely with creative and planning teams to ensure accurate product information—copy, images, attributes, shipping details, pricing, and enhanced content—for all assigned categories.
Requirements
  • Language: Native Japanese proficiency is essential (95% of work will be in Japanese).
  • Experience: Ideally 3+ years in ecommerce, with a focus on site merchandising and demand generation.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of Japan’s ecommerce landscape, including emerging trends, and ability to translate marketing needs into actionable programs.
  • Data Expertise: Comfortable analyzing customer and sales data; experience with Adobe Analytics or similar tools, and Content Square for heatmaps and behavioral insights.
  • Skills: Analytical, process‑oriented, and adept at learning data analysis tools.
