Job summary

MindChamps Performing Arts International Preschool @Changi Business Park is seeking a Theatre Specialist Teacher to design and deliver Creative Drama and Theatre for PlayGroup to Kindergarten, and to teach MindChamps Reading lessons. You will work with classroom teachers to create integration opportunities between core and specialist curricula and will produce performances twice yearly.

• Educated to Diploma/Degree level in Performance Arts/Theatre Studies.

Responsibilities

• Create and design lesson plans in Creative Drama and Theatre for 5 levels of students (PlayGroup to Kindergarten 2) following MindChamps guidelines.
• Teach all assigned Creative Drama and Theatre classes and MindChamps Reading lessons.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate core and specialist curricula.

Job description

Create and design lesson plans in Creative Drama and Theatre for 5 levels of students – PlayGroup, Nursery 1, Nursery 2, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2. The curriculum is to be developed along guidelines and frameworks provided by MindChamps.

Teach all assigned Creative Drama and Theatre classes for Playgroup to Kindergarten

The Theatre Specialist Teacher will also be required to teach assigned MindChamps Reading lessons.

Work closely with classroom teachers to create integration opportunities between core and specialist curriculum.

Produce and direct twice-yearly performances in liaison with other specialist teachers and classroom teachers.

Create, design and teach Creative Drama and Theatre as enrichment classes on weekends and / or during school holiday programmes, where needed.

Assist the school in providing routine care to students during non-teaching hours.

Cover Dance, Creative & Theatrical Strategies or Neuromooves classes at other centres, where required.
