Job summary

A construction company in Singapore is seeking a seasoned professional for a senior role requiring a minimum of 8 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong Quantity Surveyor skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Mandarin. Responsibilities include supporting the Construction Manager, preparing documentation, and ensuring site compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of Quantity Surveyor (QS) experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Chinese foremen in Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Support Construction Manager in planning site construction works.
  • Prepare all documentation including method statements.
  • Coordinate with various authorities and agencies for site clearance.
  • Report daily issues to Construction Manager/Project Manager.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain quality, cost, and documentation controls.

Job description

Min 8 year of working experience, in SINGAPORE and in the related field is required for this position.

6 years of QS experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office & AutoCAD.

Must be able to calculate and quote

Good written and oral communication, both in English and Mandarin.

Ability to communicate with Chinese foremen in Mandarin.

Able to communicate with Bangladeshi workers in English.

Support Construction Manager in planning of site construction works

Prepare all documentation including method statements and other submissions.

Coordinate with various Authorities / government / utility agencies for initial site clearance.

Coordinate with QP(S) including submission of necessary documents.

Report on daily issues to Construction Manager/ Project Manager.

Plan, schedule, control and monitor work progress at site.

Plan and arrange manpower to job site.

Continuously ensure adherence to planned timelines.

Maintain and monitor quality, cost and document controls.

Prepare and submit all daily / weekly reports as required.

Identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes, minimize environmental impact associated with the construction activities.

Ensure safe work procedures and environmental control measures are implemented at the work site.

Liaise with authorities, consultants, main contractors and subcontractors.

Able to read and understand construction drawing, engineering drawings and specifications
