Job description

• Lead a diverse global team managing and supporting Visa’s global Compute infrastructure


• Manage a local team of engineers in Singapore and collaborate with Compute Operations leadership across the US, UK, and Asia Pacific


• Manage day-to-day functions of the 24x7x365 Operations team


• Ensure change management and incident escalation processes are defined and followed


• Maintain audit compliance and deliver corporate and departmental goals and metrics


• Devise technology strategy and operating standards for Visa’s Compute infrastructure


• Manage service availability, reliability, and supportability initiatives to improve performance and uptime


• Manage heterogeneous hardware and software infrastructure


• Manage enterprise virtualization technologies


• Drive Level-1 and Level-2 incident, change, and problem management improvements


• Establish best-practice methodologies for problem resolution in a global, high-volume, high-availability production environment


• Lead development of Compute operations processes and tools, focusing on virtualization, SDN, and big data analytics


• Provide leadership for projects and technology upgrades, including vendor tool and solution recommendations


• Mentor, manage, and motivate senior technical professionals and set priorities to achieve KPIs


• Support adoption of new technologies and assist in lab proofs of concept


• Coordinate execution to mitigate cybersecurity risks and emerging threats


• Govern vulnerability assessment, security remediation, and patch management for compute infrastructure


• Assist with strategic roadmaps for service-level targets and compute operations goals


• Ensure operations comply with governing standards, audit requirements, and regulatory requirements


• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities


• Establish standards and governance for future acquisitions


• Provide subject matter expertise to partners and customers and manage collaboration projects

Requirements

• 10 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree, or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


• Bachelors or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field


• 10+ years’ experience in technology, information security, and/or compute administration


• 6+ years of experience in a management role


• Experience managing heterogeneous hardware and software infrastructure, including HP, Dell, IBM, Linux, AIX, and CentOS


• Experience managing enterprise virtualization technologies including VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Hyper-V


• Current or held advanced compute technical certification, such as VCP, RHCSA, AWS, CKA, GCP, or relevant industry certification


• Experience or exposure to cloud technologies including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform


• Experience leading large software/tools development, compute engineering, or operations teams


• Prior experience with multi-vendor networking/shared-infrastructure technologies


• Experience leading enterprise-level compute operations teams


• Hands-on experience deploying large-scale compute technologies


• Proven track record driving change and transformation through metrics-driven, KPI-based methodologies


• Prior experience leading enterprise technology and cultural transformation programs


• Understanding of tools and technologies in the compute operations ecosystem


• Strong communication, analytical, technical, troubleshooting, and consensus-building skills


• Experience developing next-generation leaders


• Experience with metrics-driven management and accountability


• Ability to develop meaningful reports from multiple data streams


• Experience with storage clustering software such as Spectrum Scale or ScaleIO is value added


• Automation experience using Ansible and/or Python is desired
