Job summary

ARISTOS SEARCH LLP is seeking a Category Director to lead strategic and operational management of assigned procurement categories in Singapore. You will drive sourcing projects, define supplier strategies, and create value across engineering, R&D, and operations.

You will mentor Buyers, shape supplier relations, and collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with business goals. Strong negotiation, analytics, and TCO expertise are essential for driving cost optimization and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
• 7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management.
• Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills demonstrated through engagements.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in TCO, cost modeling, and financial analysis.
• Willingness to travel 10–20% domestically or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic negotiations for supplier agreements using industry knowledge, TCO insights, and risk analysis to secure optimal terms
• Influence stakeholders to adopt strategic sourcing approaches that align with long-term business objectives
• Engage early in NPI, technology evaluation, and capacity expansion projects to ensure procurement alignment
• Analyze cost breakdowns, market trends, and benchmarking data to identify cost-saving and value-enhancing opportunities
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards throughout sourcing activities
• Develop and renew supplier contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders and legal teams to maintain alignment and mitigate risks
• Mentor Buyers and contribute to procurement capability building through knowledge sharing and cross-site collaboration
• Manage cross-functional initiatives to drive category management excellence and supplier performance improvements
• Utilize MS Office, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and e-sourcing tools to support procurement processes and data analysis

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management, preferably in manufacturing, semiconductor, or equipment-intensive industries
• Advanced negotiation and supplier management skills demonstrated through successful strategic supplier engagements
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in TCO, cost modeling, and financial analysis
• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (10-20%)
