Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead a high-performance team in Singapore, driving ultra-low-latency trading systems for equity derivatives.

You will guide architecture, connect with APAC markets, and shape the technology roadmap across regional and global partners. You will mentor engineers, enforce engineering best practices, and collaborate with trading desks, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 15+ years of applied experience, including 10+ years in trading systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in C++ development (C++14/17/20) for ultra-low-latency systems.
• Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing senior engineers.
• Strong knowledge of low-latency optimization techniques.
• Experience with exchange connectivity including FIX protocol, binary exchange protocols, TCP/UDP socket programming, and multicast market data.
• Expertise in designing, building, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems with high-availability and automatic failover.
• Ability to influence technical direction across global, matrixed organizations and drive consensus among senior stakeholders.
• Experience with configuration management, build tools, and continuous integration environments such as Jenkins

Responsibilities
