Director of Operations/Strategy at Sentient Labs

Summary: The director of ops/strategy strategic and operational leader, supporting the co‑founder in driving company‑wide planning, cross‑functional coordination, and executive‑level initiatives. This role focuses on adding structure, managing processes, and ensuring alignment across teams to achieve company goals. The director of ops/strategy will also act as a key representative of the Sentient co‑founder, guiding informed decisions, writing on their behalf, and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Lead annual and quarterly planning, ensuring all teams are aligned with strategic goals.
• Track and monitor goals/roadmaps to ensure alignment with Sentient mission & strategy.
• Facilitate cross‑functional coordination, resolving dependencies and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with department heads to drive execution and accountability.
• Be a positive force for operational excellence, improving company and cross‑functional velocity through collaboration, communication and process.

Executive Support & Communication

• Prepare co‑founder for strategy, operation and finance meetings, offering market and partner context, data + insights and key talking points.
• Represent the co‑founder in meetings, ensuring their voice/perspective is accurately reflected.
• Draft communications and documents on behalf of the co‑founder, maintaining consistency in tone and messaging.
• Support the co‑founder in making real‑time decisions to move projects forward efficiently.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in operations, strategy, business development, investment banking or a similar role, preferably in a high‑growth environment
• MBA / Investment Banking / Consulting experience is a plus
• Strong track record of leading cross‑functional initiatives and company‑wide planning.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent judgment, decision‑making skills, and the ability to build consensus.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Understanding of open source software and artificial intelligence is a plus
