Job Responsibilities
- Drive Luxury Brand alignment, including program, budget, planning and interior design due diligence initiatives, and mentor key partners such as operations, DPM teams, third‑party owners, architects, and consultants.
- Encourage collaborative work sessions, in‑person and electronic, to foster positive team relationships.
- Conduct project evaluations and recommendations to optimize guest experience and overall property performance.
- Lead long‑range CAPEX planning, acquisition due diligence, property improvement planning, property and project assessments, and site/desktop evaluations for conversions, renovations, and new construction projects.
- Drive operations CAPEX planning initiatives and all related CAPEX projects, adhering to Design Excellence narratives, documentation, and construction standards.
- Develop RFPs, consultant contracts, and manage contract resolution as necessary.
- Collaboratively evaluate and recommend improvements to Design Excellence effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Direct and guide design managers and design teams to implement Design Excellence within an operating environment.
- Ensure stringent compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
- Develop a strong culture of integrity, teamwork, passion, creativity, respect, and strong project delivery alongside sourcing and procurement to review and comment on design consultant scope and fee.
- Review and assess properties and project documents, contributing space planning and detailing for design presentations, FF&E, artwork, OS&E, and GC drawings/specifications.
- Compose written and visual recommendations and approval documents for internal and external circulation.
- Mentor consultants through online project registration, design submittals, workshops, relationship building, and issuance of formal design approval letters.
- Support the construction delivery team to ensure acceptable quality deliverables from consultants and contractors throughout all project stages.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- 4‑year degree from an accredited interior design or architecture program.
Experience
- 15+ years of global experience in luxury resort projects or large‑scale mixed‑use developments at major consultancy firms or developers.
- Proven track record in Integrated Resort design, including space planning, interior design, FF&E, and materials.
- Extensive experience implementing design processes and driving current consultant practices, scope, and capabilities.
- Strong experience managing teams and complex projects, including design team organizational structures and resource allocation.
- Experience delivering large‑scale commercial building projects.
- Experience in large‑scale Integrated Resorts and/or Regulated Casino Environments is preferred but not critical.
Other Prerequisites
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to develop diagrams and documentation (CAD, sketches, etc.).
- Strong leadership capabilities, charisma, and ability to inspire key stakeholders and employees around a single vision.
- Ability to collaborate with senior management with poise and discipline as a self‑starter.
- Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to handle disputes efficiently.
- Strong project management, organizational, communication, and collaborative skills, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Design Solutions, and InDesign.
