Qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities

The Director of Finance has overall responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation, management, and operation of all finance activities within the company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, governance, and negotiations. This role also extends to obtaining and maintaining investor relations and ensuring compliance with partnership agreements.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals.
  • Provide financial leadership, direction and guidance to the executive team and the finance team.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and other executives regarding financial opportunities and challenges.
  • Oversee, budgets, and forecast.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure the company has adequate liquidity to support operations.
  • Advise on long‑term business and financial planning.
  • Manage financial risks and implement strategies to minimize identified risks.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place to protect the company’s assets.
  • Provide commercial insight and leadership across the business to exceed business plan targets.
  • Responsible for ensuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the Group.
  • Establish and develop relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion, including potential mergers and acquisitionsli>
  • Oversee and consolidate the financial operations of the company’s entities, including those in Malaysia, Japan, and the United States, manage the company management fee, and ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis across all regions.
Role Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance leadership roles, with a strong preference for experience in the entertainment and F&B sectors.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and risk management.
  • Track record managing external auditors and delivering accurate, on‑time consolidated financial statements for multi‑entity groups.
  • Background in audit firms as well as in‑house roles within private companies.
  • Track record of digitizing / automating finance processes (e.g., ERP, BI, e‑invoicing) to drive efficiency.
  • Strategic thinker with a positive, change‑or mindset and innovation focus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication, including direct engagement with the CEO.
  • Prior experience as a CFO or in an equivalent senior finance leadership role.
