Job description
Overview

The role is responsible for building out MUFG’s Fund Finance (Subscription Finance and NAV) product presence and capabilities in Singapore. The position will contribute to the revenue target and financial success of the Fund Finance APAC business.

Responsibilities
  • Development and execution of a robust product business plan for the expansion of the Fund Finance business in Singapore, in partnership with the Managing Director, Head of Fund Finance, Asia Pacific.
  • Aim to achieve revenue and return targets for the Fund Finance business in Singapore, while upholding MUFG culture principles.
  • Lead client engagement on Fund Finance matters and leverage MUFG relationships and own networks to originate opportunities and secure mandates for Fund Finance transactions.
  • Lead negotiations (including term sheet preparation and agreement), structuring, and execution of Fund Finance transactions; responsible for preparation and submission of credit approvals.
  • Enhance Fund Finance client experience and outcomes for existing and new clients.
  • Build, in coordination with relationship managers, new customer relationships that expand Fund Finance business and portfolio growth.
  • Provide input into and lead Fund Finance product development within MUFG risk tolerance levels.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior Fund Finance APAC team members.
  • Proactively manage risk and portfolio and contribute to Fund Finance APAC reporting processes.
  • Engage in, contribute to, and lead Fund Finance APAC team initiatives and activities as appropriate.
  • Support MUFG origination and distribution activities and identify cross-sell opportunities for MUFG products.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Fund Finance APAC budget by originating, negotiating, structuring, and executing new fund finance transactions in Singapore.
  • Lead client engagement on Fund Finance matters and collaborate with RMs to originate opportunities, while enhancing the client experience.
  • Build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (particularly RMs) to enhance presentation, negotiation, and delivery of the Fund Finance product in the market and expand MUFG’s Fund Finance franchise presence in Singapore.
  • Analyze transactions, identify pros/cons/risks and develop mitigants; lead credit applications and approvals as appropriate, while guiding junior team members.
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years' experience in banking or finance, with 5 years' experience in Fund Finance or Structured Finance.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Working knowledge of funding vehicles and structures, and jurisdictions including but not limited to Cayman Islands, Singapore, and Luxembourg.
  • MS Office proficiency with strong capabilities in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor degree in Finance; Masters degree in Finance or related disciplines preferable.
