Job summary

MEINHARDT EPCM (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks a Director - Data Center to establish, lead, and grow the Data Center vertical.

You will secure and deliver mission-critical data center projects, develop relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, and investors, and build teams to support sustainable growth. This role carries accountability for business development, project oversight, profitability, and market positioning of the Data Center EPCM business, with a focus on strategic client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer, PE, PMP, RICS or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in EPCM, engineering, construction, or project management.
  • Minimum 10 years in Data Center projects.
  • Proven success delivering hyperscale and mission-critical facilities.
  • Demonstrated business development track record.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Data Center growth strategy.
  • Lead executive oversight of Data Center EPCM projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Data Center delivery team.
  • Establish governance, procedures and standards for Data Center projects.
  • Manage financial performance, risk, and client relationships across Data Center programs.

Job description

Role Summary

The Director - Data Center will be responsible for establishing, leading, and growing Meinhardt EPCM's Data Center vertical. The role will provide strategic leadership for securing and delivering mission-critical data center projects, developing client relationships with hyperscalers, colocation providers, investors, and operators, while building technical capabilities, processes, and teams to support sustainable growth.

The position carries full responsibility for business development, project oversight, team development, operational excellence, profitability, and market positioning of the Data Center EPCM business.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Market Growth
  • Develop and execute the Data Center business growth strategy.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, AI, cloud, telecom and edge data centers.
  • Build strategic relationships with developers, investors, operators, contractors, consultants and technology providers.
  • Lead proposal preparation, bids, presentations and contract negotiations.
  • Expand Meinhardt EPCM's market presence across target regions.
  • Develop key account management plans for strategic clients.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
2. Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Provide executive oversight of all Data Center EPCM projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Monitor design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Support project directors and project managers in resolving complex technical and commercial issues.
  • Establish best-practice project governance frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, local regulations and industry standards.
3. Team Building & Capability Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing Data Center delivery team.
  • Recruit specialists across engineering, project management, commissioning and construction disciplines.
  • Develop technical training programs and competency frameworks.
  • Mentor and coach future leaders.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and lessons learned across projects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and accountability.
4. Strategy & Vertical Development
  • Establish the Data Center business as a strategic growth sector within EPCM.
  • Develop service offerings covering: Owner's Engineer / EPCM / Project Management / Design Management / Construction Management / Programme Management / Commissioning Management / Sustainability and Energy Optimization
  • Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Develop partnerships with technology suppliers and industry stakeholders.
  • Create standards, methodologies and operating procedures for Data Center projects.
5. Financial & Commercial Management
  • Accountable for annual business plan and P&L performance of the Data Center vertical.
  • Monitor project profitability and resource utilization.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage risk and contract performance.
  • Ensure effective commercial management throughout project lifecycles.
