Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of dim sum dishes, including steamed, fried, and baked items, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Develop and refine recipes to incorporate seasonal ingredients and meet evolving customer preferences.
- Maintain presentation, flavor, and portion standards in alignment with company expectations.
- Oversee ingredient preparation, portion control, and inventory management to minimize waste and ensure efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations at all times.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on traditional and modern dim sum preparation techniques.
- Collaborate with kitchen management to ensure timely and coordinated service, especially during peak periods.
- Monitor kitchen equipment performance, reporting malfunctions and coordinating maintenance as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dim Sum Chef or Dim Sum Cook in a professional restaurant setting.
- In-depth knowledge of traditional and contemporary Chinese dim sum preparation techniques, including steaming, frying, and baking.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent certification preferred, but not mandatory.
