Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced technology leader to drive complex digital banking transformations across ASEAN. The role requires strong credibility in modern banking architectures and the ability to engage with C-suite and technology executives while guiding large, distributed engineering teams.

You will shape transformation programs, lead multidisciplinary groups, and deliver across onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery models.

About the opportunity

This is a hands-on technology leadership role combining digital banking architecture, solutioning, complex program delivery and client engagement. The successful candidate will bring strong technical credibility in modern digital channel architectures while being equally comfortable engaging C-suite and technology executives, shaping transformation programs, leading multidisciplinary teams and driving delivery across geographically distributed teams.

The role will be based in Singapore with significant engagement across ASEAN.

Your key responsibilities

Complex Transformation Delivery

• Bring deep, hands-on understanding of modern front-end architectures, mobile/web application architectures and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.
• Lead large-scale digital banking transformation and modernization programs from solution definition through implementation and production rollout.
• Take accountability for delivery outcomes across scope, architecture, quality, timeline, commercial performance and client satisfaction.
• Lead complex programs involving large offshore and distributed engineering teams, working effectively across onshore, nearshore and offshore delivery models.
• Establish strong engineering and delivery governance covering architecture, DevSecOps, release management, quality engineering, integration, performance and production readiness.
• Manage complex dependencies across digital channels, core banking, payments, cards, identity, CRM, data platforms and third-party ecosystems.
• Demonstrate the ability to recover or stabilize challenging programs through strong technical judgment and disciplined execution.

Client Leadership & Relationship Building

• Build trusted relationships with executives including CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Heads of Digital, Heads of Technology and senior architecture and engineering leaders.
• Act as a credible technology advisor, able to move seamlessly between executive-level transformation discussions and detailed technical conversations with architects and engineers.
• Lead compelling executive presentations, architecture workshops, solutioning sessions and technology strategy discussions.
• Develop relationships through technical credibility, collaborative leadership and delivery performance rather than relying solely on traditional consulting relationship management.
• Navigate different organizational and cultural environments effectively across ASEAN.
• Build consensus between business, technology, architecture, engineering, operations, vendors and executive stakeholders.
• Bring practical understanding of how technology decisions, procurement, stakeholder management and transformation delivery differ across ASEAN markets.

Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate should ideally bring 15+ years of technology experience, with substantial experience in banking or financial services and a strong track record in digital banking transformation.

We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate:

• Demonstrated success delivering complex technology transformations involving large offshore engineering teams and multiple delivery locations.
• Strong commercial and delivery capability for large technology programs.
• Significant client-facing experience with banks and financial institutions.
• Strong technical depth across modern web and mobile front ends, BFF architecture, APIs, microservices and integration architectures.
• Understanding of modern engineering approaches including cloud-native architecture, containers, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, observability and API management.

Leadership Profiles

The successful candidate should be equally credible:

• Presenting a digital transformation strategy to a bank CEO, CIO or executive committee;
• Facilitating architecture and solution workshops with CTOs and enterprise architects;
• Challenging engineering teams on front-end, BFF, API and integration design decisions;
• Leading a complex multi-country transformation program with a large offshore delivery organization; and
• Building trusted relationships across different ASEAN cultures and geographies
