A leading technology research organization in Singapore is seeking a Development Engineer to develop and enhance robotics software solutions. Responsibilities include researching and developing robotic applications, implementing systems engineering, and executing technical projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science, and proficiency in C++, Python, and ROS2. This position is suitable for candidates with 0-3 years of experience.

Job Description

As a Development Engineer, you will be a key resource in a team developing new or enhancing existing robotics software solutions for industrial applications, primarily in manufacturing and logistics. You will contribute to or pioneer new capabilities related to the management and orchestration of multi-robot (mobile or stationary) and multi-device (sensors, IoT, workcells, enterprise systems) systems, with a focus on the Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF). You will also need to be able to develop and maintain user interfaces for robotic mission control systems and dashboard development.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Research and develop robotic software packages and tools for industrial applications using the ROS 2 framework, including capabilities in Robotics Middleware Framework (RMF) multi-agent path planning, simulator design, perception, and motion planning.
  • Drive application-oriented robotic research towards industrial automation using ROS 2. Develop front-end UI for interoperable robotic systems for manufacturing and logistics applications.
  • Implement systems engineering approaches by translating business requirements into system requirements, validation methodologies, and develop software testing and validation strategies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Execute technical projects, including planning, technical documentation, write-ups, and presentations.

Degree in Robotics Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Experience with software systems integration, including architecture and communication protocols.
  • Experience with networked systems design and implementation.

  • Experience applying or researching AI technologies in robotics.
  • Experience managing stakeholders from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Web development experience (e.g., React framework).
  • Strong systems design skills.
  • Experience developing software solutions using ROS libraries.
