Job summary

nec asia pacific pte. ltd. seeks a experienced Technical Manager to lead end-to-end application development and production support.

You will coordinate internal and offshore teams, clarify business requirements, and drive high-quality design and implementation using Java, XML parsing, and SOAP/REST services. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep knowledge of ESB-based integrations, Oracle/SQL databases, and build tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Manager.

• Practical experience in Java development.

• Experience with liquidity management end-of-day batch processing.
• Experience with SQL Server/SSRS and Windows Server.
• Familiarity with JP1, Task Scheduler, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and manage application development and maintenance end-to-end, coordinating internal and offshore teams.
• Provide regular status updates on deliverables, risks, and progress to Senior PM & Project Director.
• Engage with customer to clarify requirements, perform impact analysis, and prepare design documents.
• Own issue resolution including investigation, defect fixing, testing, and release management.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to deliver change requests with aligned implementation approaches.
• Review deliverables to ensure quality and alignment with business needs.
• Provide post-implementation and production support including JP1 alert handling and monitoring.
• Own effort estimation, work breakdown, and release preparation with deployment and rollback plans.
• Provide architectural review, proposals, and estimation support for new initiatives.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and manage TBCS application development and maintenance activities end-to-end, from business requirement clarification through design, development, testing, release, and production support, coordinating internal and offshore development teams
• Provide regular status updates to the Senior Project Manager & Project Director on assigned deliverables, risks, and overall project progress
• Engage directly with the customer to clarify business requirements, perform impact analysis, and prepare high-level and detailed application design documentation
• Take ownership of issue resolution including investigation, root cause analysis, defect fixing, testing, and release management
• Coordinate with offshore teams to deliver change requests by defining suitable implementation approaches aligned to customer expectations
• Conduct reviews of deliverables (design, code, test, and release procedures) to ensure quality and alignment with business needs
• Provide post-implementation and production support for incidents, queries, and clarifications, including JP1 alert handling and system monitoring
• Own effort estimation, work breakdown, and release preparation, including deployment and rollback plans, coordinating production activities with the customer and operations team
• Technical architecture review, proposal and estimation support for new initiatives

Requirements

Mandatory

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Manager
• 5+ years of experience in requirements gathering and technical design specification
• Proven experience inleading development teams
• Hands-on experience throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC) using the Waterfall model
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Practical experience in application development using Java
• Knowledge of server infrastructure, Oracle databases (Can use SQL Developer to access DB, check data, and execute SQL statements), and application / ESB servers (e.g., ESB runtime and IBM WebSphere)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience managing offshore teams
• Strong understanding ability

• Understanding of WSDL Structure (Interpretation / Creation)

• Experience supporting Liquidity Management / interest calculation modules and related end-of-day batch processing
• Experience with SQL Server / SSRS reporting and Windows Server environments
• Familiarity with job scheduling and monitoring tools (e.g., JP1, Task Scheduler) and shell /PowerShell scripting
