Job summary

National Environment Agency in Singapore seeks a mechanical engineer to contribute to the Integrated Waste Management Facility Phase 2 project. You will review designs and work with consultants and authorities to oversee construction and commissioning.

What the role is:

You will be part of a project team working closely with the appointed consultant and stakeholders on the development of the Integrated Waste Management Facility Phase 2 (IP2) – a large-scale waste management infrastructural project.

What you will be working on:

Your main responsibilities are as follows:

• Review and evaluate technical design submissions for mechanical equipment and process systems such as waste handling cranes, incinerators, boilers, steam turbine-generators, flue gas treatments, and ash handling.
• Work closely with the consultant, relevant agencies, and authorities to oversee the construction and commissioning of IWMF Phase 2 project
• Prepare tender documents, call and evaluate tender proposals.
• Verify progress claims from contractors.
• Lead a technical team to ensure safe and efficient operation of facilities when IWMF Phase 2 is in operational stage

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in waste-to-energy facilities preferred.
• Candidates with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical or process design working in other relevant fields and/or projects (i.e., Waste, Water, Oil & Gas, Power) will also be considered.
• Responsible, committed, resourceful, and a good team player
• Good interpersonal communication, presentation and writing skills
• Able to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays, if required, when IWMF Phase 2 is in the commissioning and operational stage
