Job summary
A leading corporation in Singapore is seeking a Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for payroll processing, compliance, and maintaining accurate records. Key responsibilities include managing payroll data, coordinating with finance for payments, and handling queries from both auditors and payroll vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience in regional payroll. This role offers an opportunity to drive efficiency and compliance within the payroll function.

Responsibilities
- Gather, transform, and compile data changes from various sources.
- Ensure processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Handle statutory registration and de-registration to authorities.
- Process overtime payments in compliance with local laws.
- Coordinate monthly payments and journal entries with Finance.
- Verify payroll tax/social contributions filing.
- Ensure timely tax filing obligations.
- Maintain auditable records in line with corporate requirements.
- Point of contact for payroll queries and updates.
- Work with vendors for effective payroll processing.
- Manage payroll-related queries from auditors.
- Review government claims submissions processed by Payroll Vendor.
- Create and maintain payroll process documentation.
- Perform internal staff cost recharging and accruals.
- Undertake additional duties as requested.
Responsibilities
- Gather, transform, and compile data changes from various sources of information and provide to Payroll Provider
- Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations is accurate, compliant, and timely
- Statutory registration and de-registration to social security/labour/tax authorities
- Processing of overtime payments in accordance with to local laws and regulations
- Complete all post payroll activities in a timely and accurate manner i.e. coordinate monthly payments (review and approve payroll funding bank file) and journal entries submissions to Finance including reconciliation of records and bank statements
- Verifies payroll tax/social contributions filing for all legal entities i.e. checking and reconciling the payroll information to achieve accurate, timely and compliant payments to employees, government agencies and third-party providers (pensions, social security, health insurances etc.)
- Review and ensures timely monthly, quarterly, annual and adhoc employer tax filing obligations
- Maintain records and perform data and records audit, ensure auditable records are kept in line with corporate and statutory requirements, in addition to performing regular checks and true ups of records to support employee life cycle changes
- Point of contact for handling payroll queries and updates
- Work closely with outsourced vendors to increase effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing i.e. identify gaps in system design and/or processes, propose solutions, document change requests, and coordinate the implementation of the changes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage payroll-related queries from internal and external auditors and tax authorities.
- Review statutory government claims submissions processed by Payroll Vendor e.g. NSmen pay, maternity leave, paternity leave, childcare leave, etc
- Create, develop, and maintain payroll process documentation and enhancement
- Perform internal staff cost recharging and accruals
- Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time
