About the role

HL Assurance Pte Ltd, a leading insurance provider in the Central Region, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Commercial Lines to join their dynamic team. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Commercial Lines in managing and growing the company's commercial insurance portfolio.

What you'll be doing
  1. Assist the Head of Commercial Lines in developing and implementing strategies to drive the growth and profitability of the commercial insurance business

  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the commercial lines team, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to clients

  3. Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and other relevant teams to identify and capitalise on cross-selling and upselling opportunities

  4. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to develop innovative commercial insurance solutions

  5. Provide mentorship and guidance to the commercial lines team, fostering a high-performance culture

  6. Contribute to the development and implementation of the company's overall strategic initiatives

  7. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal policies

What we're looking for
  1. Minimum 8 years of hands‑on relevant experience in underwriting commercial lines including Fire, Property, All Risk, Public/ Product Liability, CAR, WIC, GPA, GBT, and other groups.

  2. Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a commercial lines team

  3. In-depth understanding of the commercial insurance market, including products, pricing, and risk management

  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

  5. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement strategic solutions

  6. Proficient in using data and technology to drive operational efficiency and informed decision‑making

  7. Collaborative team player with a commitment to developing and mentoring team members

  8. A recognised Diploma or degree qualifications in General Insurance, Business, or a related field.
