About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Creative Services, you will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, innovation, and sustainability for SAMH’s creative initiatives. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, develop marketable and meaningful programmes, and build partnerships that strengthen SAMH’s position as an integrated wellness and creative hub.

This role is ideal for someone who can balance vision with execution, creativity with structure, and social impact with sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Team Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure service quality, efficiency, and alignment with SAMH’s mission.
  • Develop and implement effective systems, workflows, and performance standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a creative and professional team, fostering collaboration and growth.
  • Manage departmental budgets, KPIs, and reports to ensure accountability and fiscal responsibility.
  • Plan and execute events, workshops, and initiatives that align with organizational objectives and community needs.
2. Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Identify and implement income-generating programmes, creative products, and partnerships.
  • Develop strategies to attract sponsorships, grants, and funding to support creative and wellness programmes.
  • Lead creative ideation and innovation efforts that expand the department’s service offerings and reach.
3. Strategic Planning & Creative Innovation
  • Analyse market and sector trends to identify opportunities and emerging needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that align creative, therapeutic, and community services within SAMH’s wellness ecosystem.
  • Conceptualize and lead innovative programmes, exhibitions, and collaborations that raise awareness and generate social impact.
  • Strengthen SAMH’s SAMH’s brand and visibility through creative campaigns and signature initiatives.
  • Encourage experimentation with new technologies, art forms, and delivery models to enhance accessibility and engagement.
  • Establish and track clear metrics to evaluate creative, social, and financial outcomes.
4. Representation & Culture Building
  • Represent SAMH at industry, community, and professional platforms to build partnerships and expand visibility.
  • Advocate for creativity and wellness within cross-sector networks and collaborations.
  • Cultivate a motivated, cohesive, and innovative team culture that values learning, excellence, and inclusivity.
  • Mentor and coach staff to develop leadership and creative capacities.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure integrated and holistic service delivery.
Educational/professional qualifications

Degree or Master’s in Art/Dance/Music Therapy, Counselling, Community Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

Special knowledge, skills, language, etc.

· Experience in the mental health or creative wellness field is highly preferred.

· Proven track record in designing, delivering, and scaling social or creative programmes.

· Experience managing multidisciplinary teams (e.g. creatives, clinicians, programme executives).

· Demonstrated success in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and grant/sponsorship management.

Relevant work experience & no. of years

Minimum 8–10 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years in a leadership or management role in the social service, healthcare, education, community, or non-profit sectors.
