Job description
Summary of Role

SGEI is seeking a strategic leader to align corporate execution with Singapore’s national energy ambitions, shape cross-border policy frameworks, and anticipate regulatory, financial, and geopolitical risks. This role will serve as the company’s policy radar—translating complexity into clarity, ensuring gold-standard compliance across jurisdictions, and representing SGEI in high-level stakeholder engagements. The ideal candidate will bring deep policy insight, strong analytical and relationship-building skills, and a bold, forward-looking approach to advancing Singapore’s cross-border electricity trade.

What You'll Do:
  • Align business with national purpose: Develop SGEI’s company strategy and performance metrics to align with Singapore’s energy policy goals. Help translate national ambition into corporate execution.
  • Influence cross-border energy policy: Build trusted relationships with Singapore and foreign government stakeholders to understand their policy priorities—and shape the frameworks that will enable SGEI’s cross-border interconnector projects to succeed.
  • Be the company’s policy radar: Monitor regulatory changes and global policy developments across energy, environment, security, and finance that could impact SGEI’s operations. Turn complexity into clarity and provide forward-looking policy intelligence to the leadership team.
  • Represent SGEI on the big stage: Champion the company’s interests in regulatory consultations, stakeholder forums, and government briefings. Help influence the frameworks that will define Singapore’s cross-border electricity trade.
What You'll Need:
  • Education in Economics, Public Policy or a related field.
  • Experience in government policy and risk management, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policy development processes.
  • Strong writing, excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex policy and risk issues and their implications
  • Able to travel and be based overseas for up to a week at a time.
