Deputy Chief Operating Officer – Single Family Office, Singapore
THE ORGANISATION

The client is a Single Family Office headquartered in Singapore, with additional operations in Hong Kong and Malaysia. The office manages a diversified portfolio encompassing investments, property holdings, company directorships, and cross-border professional relationships. Established with a long-term vision, the Family Office is committed to preserving and growing wealth while advancing philanthropic initiatives and building a lasting intergenerational legacy.

THE POSITION

The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Deputy COO) will support and partner with the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing the day-to-day management and strategic development of the Family Office. This position is responsible for strengthening operational governance, financial oversight, and multi-jurisdictional tax coordination while driving the execution of strategic and legacy-related initiatives. The Deputy COO will play a key role in establishing robust systems and controls, managing relationships with external advisors, and ensuring effective delivery of services across the Family Office’s diverse portfolio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the COO in leading and managing all operational activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and excellence.
  • Implement and enhance policies, systems, and reporting frameworks to support sustainable growth.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Oversee budgeting, cash flow, accounting, and consolidated reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms and tax advisors to ensure compliance with local and international regulations while optimising tax structures.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of financial systems to improve transparency and decision-making.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives including corporate restructuring, estate planning, and property transactions (acquisitions, refurbishments, and disposals).
  • Manage the operational and administrative aspects of property and luxury asset portfolios.
  • Coordinate with legal, accounting, and property management professionals to ensure effective execution of projects.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external service providers, including legal counsel, tax specialists, bankers, investment managers, and administrators.
  • Build a network of trusted advisors across relevant jurisdictions to support the Family Office’s long-term objectives.
  • Serve as a central liaison between the COO, principal, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and continuity.
  • Provide analytical and operational input to support decision-making at the senior leadership level.
  • Contribute to the development of family governance frameworks, succession planning, and philanthropic activities.
  • Support contingency and business continuity planning to safeguard the Family Office’s long-term stability.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline required. Postgraduate qualifications (MBA or equivalent) and/or professional accounting certifications (CPA, ACA, ACCA) preferred.
Experience and Technical Competence
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within a single-family office, multi-family office, private client advisory, or professional services environment. Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax and financial structures, including cross-border compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, operational leadership, and project execution. Familiarity with Singapore’s regulatory environment (MAS, MOM) and regional best practices.
