Job description
What the role is:

You will be part of a dynamic team that spearheads market development initiatives to grow Singapore as a leading global centre for digital payments and to build the financial ecosystem of the future. You will formulate policies and strategies to architect the desired future state of Singapore’s payment infrastructure and build a vibrant payments ecosystem that meets market participants’ demands in the future state of payments (e.g. data-rich payment services, high-volume atomic settlement of transactions via tokenisation, smart contract/AI-based transactions, interoperability between traditional rails and digital asset rails).

What you will be working on:

Your work will include:

  • Collaborating and building strategic relationships with financial institutions, key corporates in target sectors, technology firms and foreign regulators, to understand growth drivers and opportunities in the payments sector; and develop enabling policies and initiatives for Singapore to ride these
  • Developing and refining policies and frameworks for better governance and risk management of our cross-border linkages
  • Undertake holistic cross-sectoral reviews to identify where incremental value-add can be unlocked in the cross-border payments landscape, and design interventions to unlock these
  • Crafting medium to longer-term strategies for the next phase of MAS’ payments roadmap – crystallising our vision for Singapore’s position as a payments and digital asset hub
What we are looking for:
  • Good strategic thinking, with realistic views. Grounded in current facts, while able to see possibilities
  • Strong analytical competence with the capacity to synthesise value from diverse, rapidly-changing sources
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to positively influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of trends and developments in the global payments landscape
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A good team player who is proactive and motivated, with keen interest in growing Singapore as a financial centre
  • Background in technology will be an advantage

As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.

All applicants will be notified on whether they are shortlisted or not within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
