Job summary

The practitioner will also assist in practice management and ensure accurate patient records. Singapore Dental Council registration and full registration are required, with vaccinations up to date.

Qualifications

• Singapore Dental Council Registered Dentist.
• Full registration only.
• Vaccinations: COVID-19, diphtheria and measles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics.
• Experience with surgeries and teeth extractions.
• Basic computer skills and healthcare databases.

Responsibilities

• Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth to diagnose dental problems.
• Take X-rays and tests as needed to diagnose issues.
• Perform procedures such as extractions and fillings.
• Prescribe medications for dental problems.
• Keep patient records and treatment histories.
• Coordinate with staff to provide quality care.

About the role

This is a locum position. The locum dentist will meet with patients, assess their dental health, perform scheduled cleanings, handle complex procedures, such as extractions and wisdom tooth surgery, and work with other staff members to provide clients with quality dental services. You should also be able to assist in the management of the practice and promoting better oral hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Check teeth, gums and other parts of the mouth, along with X-rays and tests, to diagnose dental problems
• Give clients sedatives or anaesthesia prior to administering treatments
• Perform dental procedures, such as extractions and filling cavities
• Prescribe medications for dental problems, such as pain medication or antibiotics
• Keep records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them
• Manage and communicate with other staff members to provide care to patients
