Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Project Manager to oversee marine construction projects. Responsibilities include supervising construction activities, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in reclamation or dredging. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Min 5 years’ experience in Marine Construction and Civil Engineering works.
  • Experience in reclamation, bund construction or dredging projects preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Job description

Oversee and supervise marine construction projects till completion.

Oversee and supervise the rock placing in marine construction.

Oversee the supervise the sand filling in marine construction using marine barge / vessel.

Coordinate and monitor the reclamation work in the project and at the material supply source.

Liaise with client, other relevant authorities, consultants, and other external and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth execution of the project.

Liaise and coordinate with the marine and land survey team.

Coordinate and supervise the subcontractors and direct construction workers.

Monitor, review and report the work progress to immediate superior daily.

Implement and monitor safety matters in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations.

Responsible for ensuring good QA/QC at the project.

Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned by superior.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma holder in Civil Engineering.

Min 5 years’ experience in Marine Construction and Civil Engineering works (preferably in reclamation, bund construction or dredging projects).

Familiarity with hydrographic surveys, marine traffic management, and offshore construction methodologies, and vessel works planning (e.g., anchoring, positioning).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and relevant construction planning / management software.

Fast learning and understanding the process of marine construction.

Leadership and coordination skills.

Ability to communicate and work with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Positively work with the management and operation team.

Must be comfortable working on vessels for extended durations.

Able to rotate between day shift and night shift as required.
