Responsibilities
Work on weekends and public holidays.
- Physically carry provisionals, groceries, and vegetables from wholesaler vendor delivery to the store room, then shift from store room to display rack to avail customers.
- Receive provisionals, groceries, and vegetables from wholesaler supplier and arrange them properly.
- Load and unload provisionals, groceries, and vegetables.
- Help customers locate provisionals, groceries, and vegetables; if needed bring the items and put them in their trolley.
- Ensure shelves and product displays remain stocked.
- Replenish products onto display shelves and areas as assigned.
- Check and account for damaged stocks, tabulate balance stocks, and tidy up items displays.
- Welcoming customers to the store and answering their queries.
- Assess customer needs and wants: answer customer questions and concerns.
- Provide appropriate product recommendations.
- Ensure merchandise is in-stock and displayed on shelves in a presentable manner.
- Build relationships with customers, especially regular customers.
- Create a variety of ongoing promotional activities to increase revenues—daily specials, coupons, discounts, a loyalty programme that encourages repeat dining, and training staff to upsell appetizers, desserts, and drinks.
- Develop larger business opportunities such as group sales, off‑site catering, a proprietary private‑label sauce, delivery service, and corporate events.
- Accomplish marketing and sales human‑resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieve marketing and sales operational objectives by contributing marketing and sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Meet marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
