We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Project Manager to spearhead, strategise,
manage and execute a large-scale Data Center Migration and Co-location Management initiative in
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing end-to-end data center migration
projects, including colocation RFI/RFP processes, lease contract reviews, and vendor negotiations.
This role requires robust comprehension of system and networking technologies, data centre
infrastructure, strong expertise in migration strategy development, project planning, risk management,
and stakeholder coordination to ensure seamless transition of enterprise systems and infrastructure
with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive data center migration strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and risk tolerance.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of migration activities, including asset relocation, network cutovers, and infrastructure validation.
- Conduct detailed assessments of current data center environments and target state requirements.
- Perform detailed work breakdowns and resource allocation to ensure smooth execution.
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, including task prioritization, milestone tracking, and team coordination across infrastructure, application, and operations teams.
- Identify and analyse dependencies, constraints, and potential risks associated with the migration.
- Manage migration waves and ensure completion against predefined entry and exit criteria.
2. Co-location RFI/RFP Management
- Evaluate vendor responses using structured scoring criteria (e.g., uptime guarantees, scalability, compliance certifications, cost models).
- Facilitate vendor presentations, site visits, and technical assessments to support decisionmaking.
- Recommend shortlisted providers based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation outcomes.
3. Contractual Review and Negotiation
- Lead contract review and negotiation for colocation agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational risk, compliance, and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to negotiate lease terms, SLAs, pricing structures, and liability clauses.
- Ensure contracts include robust risk allocation, compliance coverage (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and scalability provisions for future expansion
- Negotiate flexible terms for space and power growth, rights of first refusal, and transparent cost
- Define and document exit strategies, including termination clauses, relocation timelines, and decommissioning obligations.
4. Risk and Stakeholder Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize downtime and business
- Coordinate governance approvals, risk assessments, and rollback strategies.
- Maintain structured communication cadence with stakeholders, including executive reporting, steering committee updates, and vendor coordination.
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between technical and business objectives.
- Establish centralized program reporting through dashboards and KPIs to track migration progress, vendor performance, and contractual compliance.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project milestones, financials, and risk status.
- Capture lessons learned post-migration and apply improvements to future data center or infrastructure initiatives.

- Collaborate with finance teams to evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) across colocation options, including monthly recurring costs (MRC), non-recurring costs (NRC), and hidden fees (e.g., cross-connects).
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization throughout the migration and contract lifecycle.
- Ensure transparency in financial reporting and adherence to approved budgets.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of project management experience in data center migration, infrastructure transformation, or colocation management.
- Proven experience managing RFI/RFP processes, lease contracts, and vendor negotiations for data center facilities.

- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, and ServiceNow.
- Working knowledge of data center operations, network architecture, and power/cooling systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR).

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to risk management.
