Job summary

INFOSYS COMPAZ PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced technical and engineering lead for database services across a global estate. You will drive next-generation automation for database platforms, migrate to cloud-native, open-source, and AI-powered solutions while maintaining on-premises stability and security.

You will shape a multi-year roadmap, collaborate with AI, analytics, and operations teams, and champion observability and security across Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres and modern data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 18+ years IT experience with 15+ years middleware/webhosting and app server products in large organizations.
• Solid knowledge of Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, CockroachDB, Cassandra, NeptuneDB.
• Experience in IT security compliance and SSL/server certificates.
• Proficient in Python, Ansible, SQL, and Shell/Perl scripting.
• Unix system administration knowledge, networking and storage understanding.
• Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Terraform IaC experience including module design and reuse.
• Certification in public cloud and database products desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own a multi-year strategic roadmap for Database platforms aligned with business goals.
• Drive adoption of AI/agentic/AIOps capabilities like anomaly detection and self-healing.
• Lead cloud-native patterns for database services on AWS or equivalent, while securing on-prem data.
• Build end-to-end observability using Grafana/Datadog or equivalent.
• Automate operational tasks using Python/Ansible/PowerShell and IaC.
• Enforce security protocols and patching for database components.
• Guide DBRE and Agile practices in day-to-day tasks.
• Analyze customer requirements to ensure policy and compliance adherence.

Job Summary:

This role is the technical and engineering lead forDatabase services across the global estate. Reporting into the SVP ofDatabase and Middleware Engineering, this leadwill work with engineering teams todrive the next-generationautomation solutionsfor Database platforms: evolving legacysystemswhile leading build, integration and migration to cloud-native, open-source, AI/agent-poweredplatforms. The incumbent must combine deep technical credibility with visionary leadership and ability to partner with application, AI, analytics, and operations teams. Over the next 5years, this role is expected to transform Databaseinfrastructureinto differentiators for performance, scale, agility, and insight.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Vision:

• Develop and own a multi-year strategic roadmapfor Databaseplatforms aligned with business goals (e.g., cloud migration, cost optimization, latency SLAs, AI/ML readiness).

• Expertisein database architecture for Oracle, MSSQL and Postgres database platforms with knowledge modern database platforms (CockroachDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, Databricks etc).

• Drive adoption of AI/agentic/AIOps capabilities:e.g.,anomalydetection, predictive maintenance, self-healing, auto-scaling of databasesand automated patching.

• Developcomprehensive multi-year technical vision for global database strategy, aligning with overall businessobjectivesand investment strategies.

• Build end-to-end observability for database platforms using modern platforms (Grafana,Datadogor equivalent)

• Drive the adoption of cloud-native patterns for database services and database on AWS or equivalent, while ensuring the continued stability and security of critical on-premises applications and critical data.

• Build self-service capabilities in database spacevia UI and API based solutions which are secure and can be consumed by end users andapplications.

• Enforce enterprise information security protocols, audit hardeningand execute vulnerability patching for database components.

• Automate operational tasks and infrastructure changes using Python, Ansible, or PowerShell.

• Analyzecustomer requirements to ensure all standards, policies and guidelines are upheld from the information security perspective and support routine compliance activities.

• Ability toanalyzeInformation Security Procedures and help implement the same acrossall ofIT and Business. Thorough understanding of industry and corporate technology standards for Information Security. Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

• Adoption ofDBREand Agile methodologies in day-to-day tasks.

What qualifications or skills should youpossessin this role?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Skilled Database and application development professional with at least 18+ years’ experience ininformationtechnologyand at least 15+ years hands-on experience on middleware webhosting and application server products in a large organization preferably banking environment

• Solid knowledge in administering Database products i.e. Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, CockroachDB, Cassandra, NeptuneDB etc

• Experience in IT security compliance and implementation and use of security protocols (SSL, Server certificates etc.)

• Good experienceusing Python, Ansible,SQLand Shell/Perl Scripting.

• Experience with Unix system administration with understanding of underlying network and storage technologies.

• Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills

• Hands on experience on at least one public cloud such as AWS,Azureor GCP

• Self-motivated and can work autonomously

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with internal customers and team members

• Proficiencyin working on Linux/Unix and Windows system

• Experience in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent.

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform such as write, test, and deploy clean, reusable Terraform modules.

• Certification in Public cloud and database products is desirable.
