Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage SQL Server databases, focusing on performance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Maintain AWS services for database operations (RDS, S3, IAM policies).
• Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and parameters.
• Ensure database security by managing users, roles, and privileges.
• Handle environment cloning and refreshes for development and testing.
• Automate routine tasks and monitoring in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot database and application connectivity issues.
• Archive huge tables into S3 buckets periodically and automate the process.
• Recording Incident & Problem Management for Tickets logged for the project.

Skills Required

• SQL query performance tuning.
• Analysis of long-running queries and suggesting optimizations.
• Script review and validation.
• Troubleshooting database-related issues.
• Proficiency in DB Profiler, Query Store, and Extended Events (XEvent) session and job creation.
• Strong knowledge of indexes and table statistics.
• Ability to analyse execution plans and Plan XML files.
• Experience with AWS RDS configuration, backups, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud automation and cost optimization strategies.
• ITSM certification is desirable.
