Job summary

DCI CONSULTANTS PRIVATE LIMITED in Singapore seeks a Database Administrator to join a defense sector project, collaborating with architects and project managers to develop, test, and deploy database solutions across the project lifecycle. You will manage performance, sizing, backups, and data distribution, ensuring compliance with SLAs and IT policies.

The role may require central or western location work and occasional travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science or related tech; experience in database administration.
• Strong knowledge of database design, development, and administration in high-volume, data-intensive environments.
• Experience with clustering and replication for high availability.

Responsibilities

• Establish database performance baselines and run workload tests (replication, backup, patching).
• Handle database sizing, capacity planning, performance tuning and account management.
• Review release notes and upgrade database software per maintenance schedules.
• Create primary storage structures (tablespaces) and core objects (tables, views, indexes).
• Define user access and ensure data distribution to end users in timely formats.
• Maintain and monitor systems to meet established SLAs.
• Develop and maintain database standards and SOPs aligned to IT policies.
• Working location: Central or West; adhoc travel to customer sites may be required.

You will be a key technology partner to our customers in the Defence sector to thrive on developing the next breakthrough for the defence and security of Singapore. Working closely with the Solution Architect, Project Manager and Technical Lead, you will be part of a development team to develop, test and deploy software application as part of an overall project implementation.

Job Description

• Establish database performance baseline and executing workload tests such as replication, backup & recovery, log shipping, scalability, partitioning etc.
• Responsible for Database sizing, capacity planning, performance tuning and database account management.
• Review release notes and upgrade or patch database software based on maintenance schedules.
• Create primary database storage structures (tablespaces), primary objects (tables, views, indexes) after application developers have designed an application.
• Define user access and enable data distribution to the right end user in an appropriate format and in a timely manner.
• Maintain and monitor systems to ensure optimal performance that meets established Service Level Agreements.
• Develop and maintain the database standards and operating procedures that are aligned to IT policies, procedures, and service management frameworks.
• Working Location : Central or West. Adhoc travel to customer site may require.

Qualities We Value
