Job summary

TikTok is seeking a data-savvy professional to help Trust & Safety make data-driven decisions. You will scope projects, ideate strategies, and use data to uncover insights, diagnose issues, and tell compelling stories. You will partner with operations, policy, product, and engineering teams across regions to keep users safe.

The role involves building metrics, ML/AI solutions, and dashboards to monitor platform safety and drive cross-functional impact in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics or quantitative analysis.
• Experience with SQL, ETL, R/Python, Tableau and Excel.
• Experience building data infrastructure and reporting solutions.
• Experience creating data visualizations to communicate metric performance.
• Independently design, research, develop and apply ML/AI solutions to solve business problems, including prediction and optimization.
• Strong communication to explain complex results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, CS, Mathematics, Engineering).
• Preferred: experience in online content platforms, Trust & Safety, or risk management.
• Experience working with international partners across time zones.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to generate insights and improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work with large and complex data sets to support project execution and strategic planning.
• Design and monitor core metrics; perform root cause analysis to explain drivers.
• Collaborate with global Trust & Safety teams to provide insights and influence direction.
• Influence stakeholders with data-based recommendations and storytelling to drive impact.
• Develop heuristics to proactively detect safety incidents and mitigate risk.
• Create metrics and visualization tools to evaluate platform risks and safety strategies.
