As a Senior Data Scientist within UBS’s GWM AI, you will be at the forefront of developing advanced analytics solutions and models that shape how we understand and engage with our clients. This role focuses on client intelligence, behavioral analytics, and personalized advisory enablement bringing actionable insights into digital and advisor-led journeys. You will lead the design and implementation of models that drive segmentation, lifecycle engagement, propensity to act, and personalized product recommendations, supporting strategic initiatives across APAC and beyond. You’ll work in close collaboration with stakeholders across advisory, marketing, product, and front-line teams to ensure your models are adopted, measurable, and business-relevant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate new insights opportunities within existing datasets, uncovering hidden patterns and potential use cases that could enhance our wealth management services
  • Design and implement advanced machine learning models for client segmentation, clustering, and profiling
  • Propensity modeling (e.g., to invest, redeem, respond to offers)
  • Recommendation engines for advisory personalization
  • Churn prediction and behavior-based retention scoring
  • Build lifecycle and event-driven models to power contextual nudges and product recommendations
  • Translate complex business questions into analytical solutions, working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and digital UX teams
  • Leverage both structured and unstructured datasets, including behavioral, transactional, and channel data
  • Conduct uplift modeling and A/B test analysis to validate business impact
  • Present results in a clear and commercially relevant manner to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decisions
Your Expertise

10-15 Years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data science in financial services

  • Proven experience developing models related to client behavior, lifecycle marketing, or advisory personalization
  • Fluency in Python (mandatory) and SQL; experience with Spark, streaming platforms (Kafka), cloud-native ML environments
  • Strong applied experience with recommender systems, time series models, uplift modeling, and classification/regression pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present technical content clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in matrixed environments, working across regions and functions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to execute quickly in fast-moving contexts
