Job summary

Actxa Pte Ltd, headquartered in Singapore, is offering an internship in data science starting January 2027 for a minimum of 5 months. You will assist data scientists, collect and process data, and develop data-driven insights using ML and statistical methods in the digital health and wellness domain.

The role requires familiarity with Python and SQL, knowledge of ML, and interest in AI tools like LLMs. You may contribute to research publications and collaborate on innovative preventive health

Qualifications

• Year 3 or final year in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Good working knowledge of Python and SQL (R is a plus).
• Good understanding of machine learning is required; experience in signal processing is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or frameworks such as Hugging Face, LangChain or LLM APIs is a plus.
• Keen interest in digital healthcare, wellness and fitness domain.
• Ago with the flow attitude, adaptable to change and energetic.
• Passionate about learning and using AI tools in day-to-day work.
• Natural tenacity, resilience and determination.

Responsibilities

• Assist data scientists in performing public healthcare research and development in line with the organization's vision within the digital health and wellness domain
• Perform on-site or off-site data collection, data organization, storage and processing
• Develop data-driven solutions and insights using data mining, statistical modelling, machine learning and deep learning methods
• Explore and prototype applications of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) for personalized health insights and behavioral nudging
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis, development and literature review, while validating outputs
• Perform algorithm testing and validation, including evaluation of AI and LLM model outputs
• Documentation of research, experiments and modelling findings/results
• Opportunity to be the co-author of our research publications

What are we looking for?

• Year 3 or final year in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
