1. Role Overview
The Data & Analytics IT Project Manager leads and delivers data-driven projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing cross-functional teams to deliver analytics solutions on time and within budget. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and business acumen to drive successful outcomes in data and analytics initiatives.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for data and analytics initiatives, from scoping and planning to execution and delivery.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Oversee the implementation of data management, analytics, and reporting solutions, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Kanban) and promote iterative, transparent delivery.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.
- Prepare and present project status reports, executive summaries, and key performance metrics.
- Foster a collaborative environment, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in data and analytics projects.
- Strong understanding of data management, data warehousing, business intelligence, and data platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS, Power BI, BigQuery etc.).
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall).
- Experience with project management tools (Jira, MS Project, etc.).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
4. Preferred Experience
- Managing large-scale, multi-geography data and analytics projects.
- Working with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Delivering projects in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
