Job summary

PCSS is seeking a database administrator to join a team responsible for deploying, managing, and supporting databases and data lake platforms in Singapore. The role focuses on high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in computer engineering, CS, or IT, with 2+ years for engineers and 4+ years for seniors. Knowledge of Linux scripting and various databases is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Engineering/CS/IT or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant experience for Engineer; 4+ years for Senior Software Engineer.
• Experience with databases and data lake platforms; security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team to deploy, manage and provide support for databases and data lake platforms.
• Develop and implement strategies for high availability, backup and recovery and disaster planning.
• Identify and resolve database issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement database security policies, procedures and best practices in compliance to industry security standards.
• Develop or implement ways to enhance client’s data warehouses, data lakes or equivalent platforms.
• Creation and upkeep of documentations e.g. design documents, troubleshooting guides etc
