The Opportunity

• Adecco is partnering with a leading global technology company to hire a Data Governance and Platform Engineer (Tech MNC).

The Job

Summary

The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks. The engineer will ensure enterprise data accuracy, consistency, and compliance while managing data governance tools and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Data Governance Framework: Define and implement governance strategies, standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Data Quality Management: Establish data KPIs, perform data quality assessments, and implement validation, cleansing, and monitoring procedures.
• Metadata & Catalog Management: Develop and maintain data catalogs and metadata repositories using Google Dataplex to improve data lineage, visibility, and discovery.
• Business Glossary & Data Dictionary: Maintain consistent business terminology and standardized data definitions across teams.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to promote governance practices, define data ownership roles, and ensure accountability.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Enforce privacy and security standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC) and support internal and external audits through robust data controls.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track and report governance KPIs, compliance metrics, and adherence to policies.
• Training & Enablement: Deliver training sessions and awareness programs on governance principles and best practices.
• Platform Engineering: Deploy, configure, and maintain GCP resources (compute, storage, networking, IAM), ensuring performance, security, and high availability of data platforms.

The Talent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 4 years of experience in data governance and quality management.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Dataplex, data lineage, metadata management, and RBAC.
• Hands-on experience with Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or Informatica CDGC and Reltio MDM.
• Proficiency in Python or Java and familiarity with BigQuery, Dataflow, Apache Spark, Airflow, Dataform, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (GCP and AWS), excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
