Job summary

TRUST RECRUIT PTE. LTD. is seeking a data engineering assistant to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines for DRUMS and remote monitoring applications.

You will focus on collecting, cleaning, transforming, and processing time-series sensor data from shipboard machinery. You will assist in ETL/ELT testing, work with AWS services, and help validate data quality while learning from senior team members.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT or related field.
• Strong Python skills and good SQL knowledge for data processing, API development.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, transformation and DB optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Pandas and NumPy; familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Glue) from coursework or projects.
• Able to use AI coding assistants effectively while reviewing code.
• Comfortable with Linux, Git and basic scripting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test ETL/ELT processes for reliable data ingestion, storage and retrieval.
• Support AWS cloud services usage (S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Glue).
• Assist with database operations and SQL queries; ensure data quality checks.
• Collaborate on API and backend service development using Python and SQL.
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and improve processing efficiency.
• Produce technical documentation, test reports, and data procedures.
• Collaborate with data engineers and team members on ongoing tasks.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as directed by team lead.
