Job summary

RECRUITPEDIA PTE. LTD. is seeking a capable Facilities Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical systems within a Tier III data centre environment.

You will manage preventive and reactive maintenance, monitor uptime and KPIs, and coordinate site engineers and contractors to ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience operating electrical and mechanical systems in Tier III data centre or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance teams.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems in data centre.

• Support regulatory inspections and certifications.

Working Days: Monday - Friday

Working Hours: 8:00am - 6:00pm

Location: Alexandra / Tampines

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems within a critical facility / data centre environment.
• Manage preventive and reactive maintenance programmes to ensure equipment reliability, availability and compliance with required standards.
• Monitor facility performance, uptime and operational KPIs.
• Lead and coordinate site engineering operations, including maintenance technicians and appointed contractors.
• Plan and oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities to minimise operational disruptions.
• Monitor subcontractors and specialist vendors to ensure works are completed safely, on time and according to required standards.
• Conduct regular reviews of equipment condition, maintenance requirements, operational risks and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate remedial actions during equipment failures and critical incidents.
• Act as an escalation point for critical technical issues and support troubleshooting and resolution.
• Lead meetings with contractors, suppliers and service providers to review performance and corrective actions.
• Ensure maintenance records, asset information and technical documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Support statutory inspections, certifications and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Prepare operational reports and provide updates to management and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance practices, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering, Operations Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating electrical and mechanical systems in a Tier III or equivalent data centre / critical facility environment.
• Strong understanding of critical facility operations, preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Experience managing contractors, specialist vendors and maintenance teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of safety, statutory and operational compliance requirements.
• Relevant data centre / critical facilities certifications will be an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients, stakeholders, vendors and technical teams.
• Resourceful, proactive and able to manage operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in continuous improvement, operational reporting and client-facing environments will be an advantage.
