Job summary

MINDTECK SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking an experienced data-focused backend developer to design, build and maintain APIs for data-driven applications. You will model data, manage scalable databases (SQL and NoSQL), and design ETL pipelines for reliable data ingestion and processing.

You will translate business needs into technical solutions, support dashboards, validate data, and ensure code quality with strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
• Proficient in Python for data processing and backend development.
• Experience in API development (e.g. RESTful services).
• Strong understanding of data modelling and data structures.
• Experience in ETL development and data pipeline design.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Good communication skills for requirements gathering and user support.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in dashboard tools (e.g. Qlik Sense) is an advantage.
• Familiar with backend frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Django) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain APIs to support data-driven applications and integrations.
• Build and manage scalable data models, schemas, and data structures.
• Develop, optimize and maintain databases using SQL and MongoDB.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation and processing.
• Gather user requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Provide user support for dashboards and data applications (troubleshooting, issue resolution).
• Support and maintain dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, reliability and performance.
• Perform data validation, debugging and root cause analysis.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, documentation and version control.
