Job summary

A national health authority in Singapore is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to perform statistical analyses and support public health functions. The successful candidate will contribute to post-marketing surveillance, develop analysis plans, and translate findings into clear reports. Applicants should possess a strong background in health data science with at least 2 years of relevant experience, proficiency in statistical programming languages, and excellent communication skills. This is a 1-year contract position with potential for renewal.

Qualifications

Job description
What the role is:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to protect public health and safety to join us as Data Analyst at the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

What you will be working on:
  • Perform statistical analyses on clinical and operational datasets to support HSA’s public health function
  • Support analytics for post-marketing surveillance of health products across their lifecycle
  • Develop and execute analysis plans, including data cleaning, validation, and quality assessment
  • Translate analytical findings into clear reports, dashboards, and presentations for regulatory and operational decision-making
  • Contribute to the development of monitoring frameworks, study protocols, and standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to publications, conference materials, and internal technical documentation
  • Supervise interns and perform other duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
  • Strong background and experience in health data science, epidemiology or related scientific disciplines, e.g. biostatistics or equivalent technical fields with at least 2 years of experience
  • Prior experience in hospital pharmacy practice, medication safety, pharmacovigilance or experience in causal inference / epidemiological methods and analysing electronic health records will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g. R, Stata or Python) and SQL
  • Peer-reviewed journal publications in topics related to drug safety or related topics
  • Good interpersonal, communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a fast-paced, project-focused environment

The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract (with option for automatic renewal for a further one year) in the first instance.
