Job summary

BEATHCHAPMAN (PTE. LTD.) is seeking a Finance data engineer to translate business needs into data deliverables and to design scalable data warehousing and ETL pipelines.

You will work across ingestion, transformation and reporting to produce reliable, analysis-ready information for finance and the business. The role requires a degree in CS/Analytics or related field and strong SQL/Python skills, with exposure to Hadoop, Spark or Flink preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in CS/Analytics or related field.
• Strong command of SQL and Python; exposure to other languages beneficial.
• Experience with big-data tools (Hadoop/Spark/Flink) is a plus.

About the team

This role sits within the central Finance organisation of a large technology company operating multiple consumer platforms. The team owns the finance data function end to end: building and operating scalable infrastructure for ingestion, transformation and warehousing through resilient ETL pipelines, and shipping internal web tools that let stakeholders reach and work with the data for reporting and analysis. You'll help turn high-volume operational data into reliable, analysis-ready information that finance and the business depend on.

What you'll do

• Translate business needs into well-scoped data deliverables
• Get to grips with source systems and design the warehouse structures and ETL pipelines behind them
• Build, ship and maintain ETL pipelines across a mixed technology stack
• Keep data, code and documentation aligned with governance and compliance requirements
• Support users with offline data processing and lift their efficiency by automating routine work
• Partner with the platform team to shape features that make ETL development smoother

What we're looking for

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• Strong command of SQL and Python; exposure to R, Scala, Java or shell scripting is a plus
• Hands-on experience with big-data tooling such as Hadoop, Spark or Flink is welcome
• Self-directed, with a strong sense of ownership
• Sharp analytical thinking and clear written and verbal communication
