Job description

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing security policies to safeguard the organisation’s digital assets and data. The role also involves promptly investigating and responding to security incidents.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct security‑related awareness training, surveys, and quizzes, and provide useful reference materials.
  • Perform IT security risk assessments, identify exploitable weaknesses, and implement measures to strengthen infrastructure and applications.
  • Manage vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
  • Maintain and implement security frameworks, policies, processes, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor software and systems for intrusion attempts, irregular behaviour, or abnormalities, and take action to isolate, block, and remove unauthorised access.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, including escalation, investigation, mitigation, and preparation of post‑incident analysis reports.
  • Stay updated on emerging security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Requirements
  • A recognised diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in IT security are an advantage.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an IT security‑related role.
  • Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework), risk management methodologies, and the latest OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of patch management, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, web security, endpoint security, and secure network protocols.
  • A strong team player with good collaboration skills.
