Job summary

SMC Corporation (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking an IT Security Operations specialist to support our global infrastructure and cybersecurity functions. You will handle security events using runbooks, monitor ITSM processes, assist with vulnerability management and incident response, and help educate users on safe computing.

Strong English communication and collaboration with regional and global stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in a business, management or technical field or relevant work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a customer service or technical support role.
• 1+ years of experience in a cybersecurity related role.
• Basic understanding of ITSM Principles or ITIL4 Foundations certification.
• Experience with Endpoint detection & response and email security tools.
• A+ and/or MCSA certification is preferred.
• Experience with enterprise security products Varonis, Proofpoint, Tanium is a plus.
• Security training including Security+ certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in spoken & written English with the ability to communicate effectively with regional & global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and uses operational checklist and runbook to discover and react to security events

• Review ticket queue for resolution, closure and escalation
• Execute malware scans, analyze scan results and work with senior analyst for response
• Leverage enterprise tools to assist with vulnerability management & patching
• Leverage enterprise tools to assist with user education, promoting safe computing practices across SMC
• Help develop metrics, report on the MDR (Managed Detection and Response) effectiveness to drive continuous improvement
• All other duties as assigned
