Job summary

A recruitment agency in Singapore seeks a Logistics Coordinator to manage customer enquiries, carrier negotiations, and freight documentation. The ideal candidate must have a diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management and at least 1 year of experience in the import/export freight forwarding industry. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with customs documentation is essential. The role involves coordinating shipments and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in the import/export freight forwarding industry.
  • Prior experience with freight/shipping customer service would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cargo acceptance documentation required.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Attend to customer, agent enquiries and complaints.
  • Carrier negotiation and booking.
  • Check sailing schedule and cargo status.
  • Arrange truck and stuffing.
  • Prepare shipping documents for export & import (FCL, Cross Trade, Aire Freight etc.)
  • Assist in bill of lading (BL), certificates of origin (COO), cargo insurance, PM4, SI, MSDS and other cargo acceptance documentation.
  • Coordinate & monitor shipment with carriers and clients.
  • Process custom clearance & permit if needed.
  • Send pre-alert shipping documents & invoices to customer.
  • Liaise with accounts department to make payments to carriers.
  • Verify vendor invoices with job no. to accounts department for payment processing.
  • Reporting of cargo issues.
  • Support in all aspects of sales and operational activities.
  • Assist in job closing and billing when required.
  • General admin duties and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management/ Shipping or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in the import/ export freight forwarding industry.
  • Prior experience with freight/ shipping customer service would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Portnet, Customs Permit
