Maybell Quantum is a hardware company building the cryogenic foundation for the quantum era, based in Denver. We design and ship cryogenic systems to leading labs globally, with a focus on reliability and usability.

The Cryogenic Systems Test Engineer will develop test plans, run and troubleshoot advanced cryogenic equipment, and work with product and engineering teams to improve designs. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience designing, building, or operating cryogenic systems.
• Strong grounding in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics at cryogenic temperatures.
• Hands-on experience with high-vacuum systems and helium leak detection.
• Experience safely handling cryogens such as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or ANSYS.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter who can drive results independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Able to work on-site in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

• Develop Test Plans: Build comprehensive experiments that push our products to the limit to ensure the highest quality standards.
• Operate and Troubleshoot: Become the test pilot for the most advanced cryogenic systems, focusing on user experience and uptime.
• Drive Innovation: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine platform designs based on tests.
• Support Global Operations: Root-cause issues with customers; travel to assist on-site when required.
• Build our Customer Success Infrastructure: Document test and inspection procedures for consistency.
• Engineer for Safety: Apply safety practices to systems handling cryogens and gases.
