Job Requirement
We are seeking to hire a Counsel‑Tax with expertise in commodities trading and taxation to join Aramco Trading Legal with its headquarters in Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
- Provide, manage and coordinate direct indirect tax advice, including advising and assisting in developing and implementing tax efficient business models, and providing tax advice on cross‑border business activities, transfer pricing strategies and business restructuring.
- Drive value by identifying opportunities, spotting and evaluating tax risks, balancing risk with business objectives, and making recommendations that are objective, practical, technically appropriate, and supportive of the business.
- Support and collaborate with the business to understand commercial objectives and develop tax policies and procedures relevant to the business, including attention to reputational risk.
- Research and analyze relevant tax laws related to various domestic and foreign tax matters, draft and review tax provisions in agreements and deal documents, assist with tax audits, oversee transfer pricing strategy and collaborate as needed with legal and tax compliance colleagues.
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate tax planning and risk management efforts.
- Monitor current and potential tax legislation and regulations.
· Work closely with Aramco Trading lawyers in Singapore, UK, UAE, Singapore and USA
This role reports to Aramco Trading’s Chief Counsel and may also involve working closely with Saudi Aramco lawyers.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Basic Qualifications
- Law degree required, LLM in taxation preferred.
• Candidates must be currently licensed, admitted to practice, and in good standing in the United States, England and Wales, Canada, Australia or an equivalent common law jurisdiction.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate income tax law and international tax law, experience in trading preferred.
- Law firm or Big Four experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in international tax law (including inbound/outbound taxation, relevant business tax planning, consolidated group attribute planning, structuring, transfer pricing and tax treaties).

- Ability to research and synthesize rules and provide a reasoned assessment of tax risk and propose solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and adapt to new or changing circumstances and high‑pressure situations.
