A reputable healthcare institution in Singapore seeks an experienced cook to prepare and cook a variety of dishes, manage kitchen operations, and ensure food safety standards. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in Chinese, Muslim, and Western cuisines. You will also train junior cooks and manage inventory. This position requires a 6-day work week including weekends and public holidays.
Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications, nutritional and quality standards for patients and internally organised events
Plan and organise daily food preparation and cooking to ensure efficient service
Monitor use of ingredients and control wastage while maintaining portion standards
Requisition and inventory of ingredients and kitchen supplies. Ensure proper food storage and rotation of stock.
Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness according to hospital and food safety regulations
Handle special dietary requirements and food allergy, when required.
Assist in plating and checking of meals during food service.
Train and supervise junior cooks
Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes, when required
Any other duties assigned from time to time
At least 2 years’ experience in cooking Chines, Muslim, Western Cuisine, or Catering
Required to work 6-day work week, including weekends & Public Holidays
