Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and resourceful Cook to join our Operations team at St Luke’s ElderCare Residence. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals by preparing, cooking, and serving food in compliance with health and safety standards. You will focus on meal preparation, kitchen hygiene, and food storage while supporting smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. You will take ownership of cooking, food quality checks, and stock management, contributing to residents’ wellbeing through consistent and safe meal service.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook daily meals in accordance with standard menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
  • Deliver food to assigned households and ensure timely meal service
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, including daily and weekly cleaning
  • Organize and manage dry and wet food storage areas
  • Wash and clean soiled dishes, and keep prep and cooking areas tidy after use
  • Conduct taste and quality checks for all cooked items during shifts
  • Monitor stock levels, support ordering, and assist in food costing
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene requirements
Requirements
  • Completed PSLE, GCE ‘N’/‘O’ Level, NITEC, or Diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, or restaurant service an advantage.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, organisation, and attention to detail
