Position Overview

The Control Room Technician is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and operation of plant and facility systems from the control room. The role ensures all systems function within defined parameters to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This position requires continuous communication with on-site operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to promptly identify and respond to any deviations or alarms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, control, and record process parameters through the control room systems (e.g., BMS, EMS, SCADA, PLC, or equivalent).
  • Respond to alarms, investigate system deviations, and initiate corrective actions according to established SOPs.
  • Perform routine system checks, trend monitoring, and report anomalies to the Shift Supervisor or Engineer.
  • Support start-up, shutdown, and emergency operations under the supervision of the control room lead or engineer.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, event records, and handover notes to ensure continuity between shifts.
  • Escalate equipment or system malfunctions to maintenance or engineering for timely resolution.
  • Assist in system validation, calibration, or troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), GMP, and site operational procedures.
  • Participate in shift briefings, safety toolbox meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or related).
  • At least 8 years of experience in operations, facilities, or control room environments (pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or utilities preferred).
  • Familiarity with automated control systems (e.g., Building Management System, Environmental Monitoring System, SCADA).
  • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving ability under pressure.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (day/night/weekend).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
