Job summary

EQUINOR ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced contracts professional in Singapore to support the physical energy trading business across crude oil, LPG, LNG and related products.

You will prepare, review, and administer contracts, while helping manage risk and ensuring governance and standardization across the trade lifecycle. The role collaborates with traders, operations, commercial teams and legal, handling disputes and amendments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related discipline required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commodity trading contracts or trade support.
• Experience negotiating and administering physical commodity contracts.
• Strong understanding of contractual risk management and commercial trading practices.
• Ability to work with traders, operators, legal teams and external counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and issue contracts, confirmations and related trading documents for crude oil, refined products, LPG; LNG contracts familiarity is a plus.
• Support spot and term trading activities across crude oil, refined products, LPG and LNG markets.
• Draft, review and negotiate spot and term contracts, notices, tender docs, side letters and master agreements.
• Review third-party terms and negotiate amendments.
• Identify and mitigate contractual, operational and commercial risks.
• Provide practical contractual advice to traders and commercial stakeholders.
• Support dispute resolution and claims with legal counsel when required.
• Ensure contracts comply with governance requirements and company standards.
• Contribute to improvement of contract management processes, templates and controls.

Job Description

Join our Singapore-based Contracts team and support global physical energy trading across crude oil, refined products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). You will work closely with trading, commercial, operations and legal teams in a fast-paced international environment.

The role is responsible for preparing, negotiating, reviewing and administering physical and derivative trading contracts, while helping to manage contractual risk and support effective commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and issue purchase and sales contracts, confirmations and related trading documentation for crude oil, refined products and LPG. Familiar with LNG contracts (MSPAS) is an advantage.
• Support spot and term trading activities across crude oil, refined products, LPG and LNG markets.
• Draft, review and negotiate spot and term contracts, confirmation notices, tender documentation, side letters and amendments and master agreements.
• Review third-party contractual terms and negotiate appropriate amendments.
• Identify and help mitigate contractual, operational and commercial risks throughout the trade lifecycle.
• Provide practical contractual advice to traders, operators and commercial stakeholders.
• Support dispute resolution and claims management in collaboration with legal counsel, when required.
• Ensure contracts comply with internal governance requirements and company standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates and controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, Economics, International Trade or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commodity trading contracts, commercial operations or trade support.
• Experience negotiating and administering physical commodity contracts.
• Strong understanding of contractual risk management and commercial trading practices.
• Ability to work effectively with traders, operators, legal teams and external counterparties.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant Industry Experience

Candidates should have experience supporting a physical energy or commodities trading business. Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Oil and refined products trading, LPG or LNG trading
• Trading operations and trade execution
• Commercial contract management
• Standard industry trading agreements and commercial practices

Preferred Product Exposure

Direct experience in one or more of the following products would be advantageous:

• Crude Oil
• LPG & LNG
• Gasoline and Light Ends
• Gasoil and Distillates
